On 30 November, at around 22.00, the police received a report that a man had been injured on Ternopilska Street in Zolochiv.<\/p>\n
Criminal police operatives, investigators and officers of other units of the Zolochiv District Police Department immediately arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n
As the police established, that evening, a conflict arose between a 57-year-old and a 32-year-old resident of Zolochiv, during which the older man stabbed the younger one in the abdomen and leg, causing serious bodily harm. The victim was hospitalised.<\/p>\n
The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural control of the Zolochiv District Prosecutor’s Office, served him a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.<\/p>\n
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
