Thus, on 8 December, at 15.00, on the Kyiv-Chop motorway in the village of Yampil. As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Volkswagen Crafter, a 33-year-old resident of Rivne region, hit a pedestrian, a 78-year-old resident of Lviv district. The victim died at the scene from his injuries. The driver was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Another road accident occurred at around 18.15 on the Stryi – Dashava highway near the village of Slobidka. Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the driver of a Renault, a 42-year-old resident of Stryi district, hit a pedestrian, a 44-year-old resident of Lviv region. As a result of the accident, the man died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.<\/p>\n
