Under the procedural supervision of Lviv prosecutors, a scheme involving the illegal customs clearance of cars at the Lviv Customs Office was uncovered. At the center of the scandal are inspectors of the ‘Horodok’ customs post. They entered false information into the ‘Inspector’ system, resulting in the illegal exemption of car owners from customs duties through the improper application of tax exemptions. These actions caused the state budget to incur losses exceeding 300,000 hryvnias.<\/p>\n
Currently, the customs officers have been notified of suspicion under part 1 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for abuse of office, and the investigation is clarifying all the circumstances of the case, including the possibility of suspending the suspects from their posts. The documentation was carried out by employees of the Regional Office of the State Bureau of Investigation in Lviv and the internal control department of the Lviv Customs Office.<\/p>\n
