The number of people suffering from influenza and ARVI is rapidly increasing in the Lviv region. The most challenging situation is in Lviv.<\/p>\n
In the last week, the incidence of influenza and ARVI in the Lviv region has increased by 15.5% \u2013 this is almost 25,000 new cases. The intensive indicator exceeded the epidemic threshold by 2.3 times. As explained by the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, this indicates a very high level of the epidemic process. There has also been an increase in hospitalizations due to the disease \u2013 up by 47.5% over the week.<\/p>\n
The situation is particularly alarming in Lviv, where there are the most cases among children. Over 5,000 cases are among children, accounting for 45.5% of all cases in the region.<\/p>\n
Two weeks ago, the regional commission of TEB and NS recommended that schools in the Lviv region switch to distance learning until the beginning of March to prevent an outbreak of influenza and ARVI. In all communities that followed this advice, the incidence has decreased. Unfortunately, no restrictive measures were decided upon in the Lviv community, and now we are seeing the consequences.<\/p>\n
