In Lviv, police detained a criminal involved in a theft from a safe. He turned out to be a former employee of the store. For his actions, the detainee faces a penalty of up to eight years of imprisonment. Law enforcement reminds that under martial law, the maximum penalties are imposed for theft and a number of other crimes.<\/p>\n
On the night of March 24, the criminal broke into a grocery store in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Lviv and stole proceeds amounting to 53,000 UAH from the safe, then fled. In the morning, the store owner discovered the absence of money and sought help from the police.<\/p>\n
Operatives from the criminal police and investigators from the police department No. 1 of the Lviv district police No.1 were involved in solving the crime. By examining recordings from the video surveillance system \u201cSafe Lviv Region,\u201d the police identified the person involved in the crime. He was a 21-year-old Lviv resident who had previously worked at this store. Physical evidence was seized from him.<\/p>\n
The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is up to eight years of imprisonment. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a preventive measure for the suspect.<\/p>\n
