With the public prosecution by the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a 66-year-old native of the Russian Federation has been found guilty of premeditated murder (part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n
He was sentenced to 7 years and 9 months of imprisonment.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors proved in court that in January of this year, in one of the villages of the Stryi region, the defendant killed his 68-year-old friend. Earlier, that evening, the men were drinking alcohol at the suspect’s home. A conflict broke out between them, during which the host stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife.<\/p>\n
The victim ran outside and began calling for help. Neighbors called an ambulance and the police, but the man died from his injuries.<\/p>\n
Until the verdict becomes legally binding, the accused will remain in custody. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the investigative department of Police Department No. 3 of the Stryi District Police Administration of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the region.<\/p>\n
