Every day at 9:00 a minute of silence is observed across Ukraine. We urge everyone to pause for this moment and honour the heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.<\/h2>\n

Today, Lviv region pays its last respects to nine defenders who died at the front:<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Venta<\/strong> is a resident of Pustomyty. He served in the 47th separate mechanised brigade. He died on 9 April during a combat mission near the village of Petrushivka, Sumy district, Sumy region.<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Venta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Andrii Petrusiak<\/strong> was born in the village of Dobrohostiv, Truskavets community, Drohobych district. He was a sapper in the military unit A4447, had the rank of senior soldier. He died on 13 February in Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region. It was only recently that his body was returned to his homeland.<\/p>\n

Andrii Petrusiak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Vasyl Virt<\/strong> is a resident of Hirske village, Mykolaiv community. He joined the National Guard as a volunteer and was a rifleman. He was killed on 26 March during a combat mission near Kondrashivka, Kharkiv region. He was 42 years old.<\/p>\n

Vasyl Wirth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Mykhailo Maryna<\/strong> is a resident of Stryi and Lviv. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was promoted to major. He died on 4 April in the Sumy region. He was 54 years old.<\/p>\n

Mykhailo Maryna<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Nazar Makarov<\/strong> is a native of Stryi. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2022, served as a junior sergeant and commanded a grenade launcher platoon of an assault battalion. He took part in the battles near Chasovyi Yar and in the territory of the Russian Federation. In September 2024, he received the Order of the Golden Cross. On 1 April 2025, he was appointed a squad commander. He died on 13 April in a military hospital from wounds he received on 3 April. He was 27 years old.<\/p>\n

Nazar Makarov<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Volodymyr Ilkiv<\/strong> was a resident of the village of Silets, Dobrotvir community, Sheptytskyi district. He served in the unit \u21164635. He died in December 2023 during the fighting near the village of Krynky, Kherson region.<\/p>\n

Volodymyr Ilkiv<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Oleh Dmytryk<\/strong> is a resident of Lviv. He served as a conscript in the infantry, and at the outbreak of war he joined the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade. He was killed on 1 March while performing tasks in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.<\/p>\n

Oleh Dmytryk<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Vitaliy Sokur<\/strong> is a Lviv resident, lieutenant of the 63rd separate mechanised brigade. He fought in Donetsk region and took part in the liberation of Kherson region. He was awarded the Golden Cross badge of honour and a personalised weapon.<\/p>\n

Vitaliy Sokur<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Stepan Vashchuk<\/strong> was a native of the village of Volytsia, Sheptytskyi district. He served in the military unit A4576. Last year, he was wounded in the Kursk region and lost his arm. He died on 13 April as a result of an accident.<\/p>\n
