A pedestrian was killed in Lviv as a result of a car accident, and the police are investigating the circumstances.<\/p>\n
The traffic accident occurred on May 27, around midnight, on Kulparkivska Street in Lviv. Preliminary investigations by law enforcement officers indicate that the driver of a Mazda car, a 22-year-old resident of Lviv, struck a pedestrian, a 48-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The man died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.<\/p>\n
Investigators from the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv police have opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 ‘Violation of road safety regulations’ of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years or without such. Law enforcement is establishing the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n
