In the Lviv region, the owner of a tourist company will be tried, where a tourist was injured on a cable car.<\/p>\n
The lift, from which a woman fell off the chair, continued to operate despite a court ban. For the committed offense, the accused faces a penalty of up to five years in prison, with a prohibition to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.<\/p>\n
As law enforcement officers established during a pre-trial investigation, the 67-year-old director of a limited liability company did not comply with a court ruling that in 2020 prohibited the operation of a passenger aerial cable car on Mount Pogar in the Stryi district until violations identified by the Main Department of State Labor were corrected.<\/p>\n
In particular, the company lacked a passport, operating instructions, and executive documentation for the installation of the cable car, technical inspections were not conducted. Moreover, there was no permission to operate the said object, the cable car was not registered, and its commissioning occurred without an inspection conducted by the officials of State Labor. These violations posed a threat to the life and health of tourists.<\/p>\n
However, despite the ban, the accused resumed the operation of the lift. In January this year, this led to a tourist being injured, who fell from the chair of the cable car from a height of over seven meters. As a result, she sustained moderate bodily injuries.<\/p>\n
Investigators of Police Department #3 of the Stryi District Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, have concluded the pre-trial investigation opened under part 2 of article 382 (Failure to comply with a court decision) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment has been sent to court.<\/p>\n
The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of a fine of seven hundred and fifty to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or up to five years in prison, with a prohibition to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.<\/p>\n
