In the Lviv region, law enforcement officers detained a lawyer and an official suspected of accepting a bribe.<\/p>\n
For the committed offense, the perpetrators face punishment – imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with confiscation of property. It was established that the perpetrators demanded and received an unlawful benefit in the amount of 6,700 dollars for influencing the decision-making by officials of one of the city councils in the Lviv region concerning the issuance of an inspection act of living and household conditions and for a judge’s decision on determining the child’s place of residence with the father.<\/p>\n
The individuals involved were exposed by investigators from the department of investigation of crimes committed by minors of the investigative department of the Lviv region police, in cooperation with operatives from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office.<\/p>\n
The perpetrators have been charged with committing a crime under part 2 of article 28 and part 3 of article 369-2 (Abuse of influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and were detained under article 615 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine after the distribution of part of the amount of unlawful benefit between them. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
