The tragic incident occurred on August 13, 2025, near the settlement of Rubizhne in Kharkiv region. While performing a fire mission, a fire broke out inside the gun, which led to the death of serviceman Ivan Ivanovych Bashtyk, born in 1990 and a native of the village of Ilkovychi.<\/p>\n
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Ivan volunteered to defend his homeland. He served in military unit A3085 as a mechanic-driver of the first gun in the self-propelled artillery platoon. He was recognized for his bravery and dedication, receiving multiple commendations and the “Golden Cross” badge from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
His selfless service and ultimate sacrifice became a symbol of courage and love for Ukraine \u2014 Ivan gave his life for our peaceful future.<\/p>\n
Heartfelt condolences go to his mother, Olha Mykolaivna, his wife Kateryna, sons Stanislav and Arsenii, brothers Pavlo and Stepan, sister Nataliia, as well as his entire family and friends.<\/p>\n
