A 17-year-old student in Lviv has been sentenced for possessing over 600 g of mephedrone with intent to distribute.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors from the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Lviv proved in court the guilt of the 17-year-old from Odesa, who purchased and possessed the especially dangerous psychotropic substance \u2013 mephedrone, for distribution. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison.<\/strong><\/p>\n In April this year, the student ordered a ‘master stash’ with the psychotropic drug via Telegram, received coordinates, and collected the package in Shevchenkivskyi Hai. He planned to further divide the mephedrone into smaller portions and sell it, sending it by mail or courier taxi services.<\/p>\n However, he did not manage to sell the ‘goods’ \u2013 he was detained with the ‘master stash’ by law enforcement officers in the very center of Lviv, as per Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. During the examination, he was found with a package containing nearly 620 g of mephedrone.<\/p>\n He was charged with illegal acquisition and possession with intent to distribute especially dangerous psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities (Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Until the verdict comes into legal force, the sentenced remains in custody.
