This week brought sorrow to the Sheptytska community as news emerged about the death of their Defender. Sergeant Serhii Mykhailovych Hanych, born in 1988 and a serviceman of military unit A0998, was killed in action. He served as a rifleman-crew member in a mechanized unit.<\/p>\n
For a period of time, Serhii Hanych was listed as missing in action. However, it was recently confirmed that he died on July 26, 2025, during combat near the city of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast.<\/p>\n
The Sheptytska City Council expressed its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the fallen Warrior. The entire community shares in the grief of this irreparable loss and bows its head in mourning. The memory of the Hero and his sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of his fellow citizens.<\/p>\n
