On November 22, 2025, a meeting of the city commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations was held in Sokal, chaired by Mayor Serhii Kasian.<\/p>\n
During the session, Ihor Lashchuk, director of the municipal utility “Sokalvodokanal,” reported a critical emergency caused by the rupture of a sewer collector on Ukrainska Street. The incident led to flooding of basements in several apartment buildings on Ukrainska and Shashkevych Streets.<\/p>\n
Following the report, the commission decided to declare a site-level emergency situation in the city.<\/p>\n
Prior to the meeting, a specialized contractor had conducted an inspection of the damaged section of the collector, identified the necessary scope of work, and outlined the repair methods.
