In Lviv, a 24-year-old woman was sentenced to three years in prison after being found guilty of defrauding Ukrainian soldiers by pretending to represent a charitable foundation. The Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office proved in court that the woman posed as a volunteer from the Iryna Fedyshyn Foundation to carry out a fraud scheme.<\/p>\n
According to the investigation, the Zakarpattia native orchestrated a scam in April targeting servicemen who were seeking vehicles for use on the front lines.<\/p>\n
The fraudulent scheme operated as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n In total, she deceived three soldiers and took 12,300 UAH. The scam was uncovered after one of the victims contacted the actual charity, which confirmed the woman had no connection to their organization.<\/p>\n The woman was convicted under Parts 2 and 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud).
