Presented here is a historical photo kindly provided by Mykhailo Mazur. The image, dated approximately between 1935 and 1939, shows the former manor house that once stood at the center of the village of Kariv. Today, the village council building occupies this site.<\/p>\n
The palace was built around 1830 by the Ubysz family, who at the time owned the villages of Ostrivok and Domashiv. In the 1850s, it was purchased by Romanovskyi, and later in the 1880s, ownership passed to Anelia Skrynska and Yosyp Marmorosh.<\/p>\n
Often referred to as the “larch palace,” the building earned this nickname because it was constructed entirely from larch wood. Its unique architecture and choice of materials made it one of the region\u2019s most distinctive structures.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the manor was severely damaged in 1944 and was subsequently dismantled.<\/p>\n
In the photograph, on the right, sits Zdzislaw Marmorosh with a dog \u2014 he was the grandson of Yosyp Marmorosh and the son of Kazymyr and Wanda Marmorosh. The identities of the other individuals in the photo remain unknown.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
