In September, a youth space and Plast community center ‘Steckevych Villa’ was opened in Lviv, saving the historic building from demolition.<\/p>\n
‘Now it is a modern space for children and youth, where they can gather, dream, and create the future,’<\/em> said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi. Restoration was financed by the company ‘Quorum Partners’, and the city will provide the investor with a new land plot. The project has become an important event for all of Ukraine.<\/p>\n Restoration work included the preservation of authentic elements and adaptation of the building for people with disabilities. The area was modernized with sports and playgrounds<\/strong>, an improvised amphitheater, and existing apple trees were preserved. The new center became a place for youth to implement their ideas.<\/p>\n The preserved old stoves and bullet marks from World War II times emphasize the value of historical heritage. The Lviv branch of Plast has about 2800 members<\/strong>.
