On the evening of February 24<\/strong>, SBI officers immediately arrived at the scene near Lviv to carry out urgent investigative steps and collect evidence.<\/p>\n According to preliminary findings, at about 7:00 p.m. on February 24, 2026<\/strong>, near the village of Smerekiv in Lviv district<\/strong>, a Skoda Superb<\/strong> driven by a 25-year-old prosecutor of the Sheptytskyi District Prosecutor\u2019s Office of Lviv region<\/strong> struck two minors. A brother and sister were crossing the road at a pedestrian crosswalk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As a result of the crash, a 14-year-old girl died at the scene<\/strong>, while her 10-year-old brother was taken to hospital<\/strong>. During a check, investigators found no signs of alcohol intoxication<\/strong> in the driver.<\/p>\n The incident has been preliminarily classified as a violation of road safety rules causing the victim\u2019s death<\/strong> (Part 2, Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine<\/strong>).<\/p>\n SBI investigators are continuing initial procedural actions, including questioning witnesses<\/strong>, seizing CCTV footage<\/strong>, and collecting other physical evidence.
