In view of the increasing fuel<\/strong> prices, carriers in Lviv have appealed to the city council demanding a review of transport fares, as the current financial situation is becoming unstable for them. On city-adm.lviv.ua<\/a>, it is noted that one of the possible solutions is to utilize the advantages of an electronic ticket, to avoid fare increases until the fuel market stabilizes.<\/p>\n

Ihor Samardak, General Director of the Ecopastrans Concern, reported that since the last fare review, fuel has increased by 40%, making the need to raise transportation fares relevant.<\/p>\n

“Fuel costs account for 55% of the fare value. It would be acceptable for our enterprises if 10 hryvnias were added to the existing fare,” commented Ihor Samardak.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Oleg Zabarylo, Director of the Department of City Mobility, emphasized the importance of maintaining the stable operation of public transport<\/strong>, planning to update the entire fleet by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Given the circumstances, the city is considering temporarily suspending free transfers, which may provide carriers with additional funds amounting to 9 million hryvnias monthly. Another option is the compensation for preferential rides by neighboring communities.<\/p>\n

Andriy Moskalenko, First Deputy Mayor, stated that if neighboring communities do not agree to compensations, benefits will be reviewed. Additionally, there is a possibility of temporarily stopping free transfers to maintain the current fare.<\/p>\n

The current fare for students with a LeoCard is 8.5 UAH, payment via a regular card and the LeoCard app is 17 UAH, with a bank card is 20 UAH, and cash payment is 25 UAH.<\/p>\n
