Drohobych is being considered as one of the first pilot sites for implementing affordable housing projects in Ukraine. This has been made possible due to the availability of prepared land plots and ready projects. The city is already home to over 7,000<\/strong> internally displaced persons, and in total, more than 20,000<\/strong> people have passed through the community since the start of the full-scale invasion.<\/p>\n Recently, a meeting was held at the city council between Mayor Taras Kuchma, representatives of “Ukrfinzhytlo<\/strong>“, and the assistant to Member of Parliament Andriy Kot \u2014 Vitaliy Moyseyenko. They discussed the implementation of the state affordable mortgage programme “eOselya” at the community level. Special attention was given to creating a combined financing model that would reduce the financial burden on future apartment owners, especially among IDPs.<\/p>\n Mayor Taras Kuchma emphasised the importance of housing as a factor in the return and retention of Ukrainians within the country. He highlighted that Drohobych has successful experience in constructing quality homes for displaced persons in a short timeframe. This allows the city to be a reliable partner for international organisations.<\/p>\n The Chairman of the Board of PJSC “Ukrfinzhytlo”, Yevhen Metsger, noted that “eOselya” is an effective tool for community development, but the speed of scaling depends on the communities’ ability to form projects and attract investors. The parties agreed to develop a joint roadmap for launching housing projects within “eOselya”.<\/p>\n The implementation of these projects will not only solve a social problem but also provide a boost to the city’s construction industry, creating new jobs and strengthening the community’s infrastructure.
