The Executive Committee of Lviv City Council has approved changes in the fares for city transport, which will come into effect from 16 May<\/strong>. In light of the significant increase in electricity and diesel fuel prices, transport operators demanded a review of the fares.<\/p>\n The cost of a single journey for students with LeoKart<\/strong> will be 11.5 UAH; general LeoKart or app – 23 UAH; NFC payments – 26 UAH; cash – 30 UAH. The cost of transporting luggage with cashless payment will be 23 UAH, and cash – 30 UAH. A student pass for all types of transport will cost 575 UAH, while a general pass will be 1150 UAH. The fine for travelling without a ticket will remain at 520 UAH.<\/p>\n Oleh Zabarilo, the Director of the Mobility Department of Lviv City Council, stated that raising the prices became necessary due to the increase in fuel costs to 88\u221290 UAH per litre. Although transport operators believed the fare should be around 42 UAH, a moderate option was chosen after discussions.<\/p>\n More than 30 categories of beneficiaries, including people with disabilities and schoolchildren, use the transport free of charge, and passengers with LeoKart are entitled to free transfers.<\/p>\n Ihor Samardak, General Director of the “Ecopastrans” holding, noted that the high proportion of fuel in the cost of travel complicates fare reductions. The city is strengthening control over the adherence to the transport schedule. With the renewal of the fleet, there is a gradual improvement in the transport service.<\/p>\n
