From May 18 to 23, a team of American doctors will treat Ukrainian children at Okhmatdyt with cleft lip and palate, congenital malformations, facial skeleton deformation, and speech disorders after cleft palate correction.

“The 8th mission of assistance to children aged 0 to 18, “Re:Construction Kids,” is launching. Over six days, from May 18 to 23, with a team of qualified doctors from Lviv’s “Okhmatdyt,” twelve top specialists in cleft lip and palate from the USA will work collaboratively. We provide comprehensive assistance to children; therefore, we will not only have surgeons but also a speech therapist specializing in facial restoration after complex surgeries, an orthodontist who uses treatment methods for the maxillofacial system after reconstructive interventions, and a Christian psychologist who helps and consults the patient’s family. Treating cleft lip and palate involves a series of measures that will help the child grow, develop, eat, and speak normally,” the center reported.
