A benefactor from Austria presented Lviv “Okhmatdyt” with a tonometer for determining intraocular pressure

Every year, about 70 patients of the hospital need such a method of diagnosis.

As reported in the Lviv Regional Clinical Children’s Hospital “Okhmatdyt”, this device is extremely important for children’s patients, especially babies, who can determine the intraocular pressure in any position of the child, including in the arms of the mother.

Austrian philanthropist Klaus Zamgaber made such a gift to Lviv “Okhmatdyt” thanks to cooperation with the board of trustees of the hospital, in particular with Tetyana Balashova.

“The tonometer allows you to quickly and qualitatively determine the intraocular pressure without spending time on local anesthesia, which, accordingly, significantly reduces the stress of the child and his parents. The device is very convenient for use in the operating room and intensive care wards for children with microphthalmia, nystagmus, mental and nervous system diseases, as well as with severe anxiety, which makes it impossible to determine intraocular pressure by the contact method. We sincerely thank our benefactors for their help and support for the health of our children,” noted ophthalmologist Nataliya Gudyma.
