Mark Dyrzhka, a leading spinal surgeon from New York, will help treat Ukrainian children with spine diseases in Lviv: curvatures, congenital and acquired developmental anomalies, vertebral instability.
For ten days – from April 17 to 26, the American surgeon will work together with a team of orthopedic traumatologists and neurosurgeons at the St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital. And the main areas of work of doctors will be various types of spinal curvature: scoliosis, pathological kyphosis, lordosis, congenital anomalies of development.
To help the surgeon in carrying out the most difficult interventions and consultations, Mark’s colleague – neurophysiologist Brian Demboski – also arrives in Lviv. Children with combined scoliosis and their complications will be operated on: five such interventions are currently planned.
