Lviv doctors operated in 3D mode on a 20-year-old Lviv woman with an adrenal tumor

High-precision laparoscopic 3D operations are already in the hospitals of the First Medical Association of Lviv. Only three punctures – and on large monitors, surgeons can see a three-dimensional image of the operated area with a 20-fold increase.

In particular, 20-year-old Oksana was operated on in 3D mode at St. Luke’s Hospital. The woman from Lviv turned to doctors with complaints of increased blood pressure, headaches and weakness. According to the results of examinations, she also had hormonal disorders. And after a more detailed computer tomography, the woman was diagnosed with an adrenal gland tumor.

The conclusion of the surgeons is to operate. To remove the neoplasm from the left adrenal gland, the team of doctors performed the usual three punctures to introduce new surgical equipment with a mini-camera into the area of intervention. Next, an enlarged three-dimensional image was displayed on the monitor.

“Without exaggeration, this equipment provides perfect visualization,” says Vitaly Kolodiy, head of the surgical department at St. Luke’s Hospital.

The postoperative period passed without complications, and Oksana went home on the second day after the operation.

It should be noted that such equipment enables surgeons to perform ultra-precise “jewellery” minimally traumatic interventions.
