The Ministry of Health is developing mechanisms for the transfer of the Lviv Clinical Hospital by rail to the management of the Lviv National Medical University named after Danylo Halytskyi. It is planned to create a university hospital on the basis of the medical institution.
The hospital will become not only a clinical base for training students, interns, and cadets, but will also provide highly specialized medical care and will be able to receive additional funding by signing an agreement with the National Health Service of Ukraine.
“The creation of powerful university hospitals is the need of the hour. Today, we are studying in detail the formats by which the Lviv Railway Hospital can become a base for the creation of a university hospital under the management of the Lviv Medical University. However, it is not only about the transfer of the property complex. It is very important for us to preserve and strengthen the personnel potential that is currently available in the hospital. In the future, we see this institution as a powerful clinical base, where every student, intern and doctor will be able to improve their professional skills and make the treatment process as effective as possible for patients, – said Viktor Lyashko during a meeting with the hospital management, members of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia and the management of the health department of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
According to the Minister of Health, the hospital currently needs some modernization and strengthening of the material and technical base.
2023 will be a transitional year for the Lviv Clinical Hospital on railway transport. During this time, the medical institution must improve all processes and establish work with the Electronic Health Care System.
It is expected that from 2024, the university hospital at the Danylo Halytsky Lviv Medical University will be able to enter into contracts with the National Health Service. Initially, the hospital expects 17 packages under the Medical Guarantee Program.
