On December 10, German doctors from Hanover, together with Ukrainian volunteer Maria Maksymtsiv, handed over an “ambulance”, an ultrasound machine and other equipment to the Sheptytsky hospital.
A certain amount of equipment, modern operating tools and medical consumables were brought for the military hospital. Hanover residents also handed over gifts from St. Nicholas for children to the Lviv Orphan Care Center on Taras Hammer Street.
Anesthesiologists and emergency medicine doctors Martin Schott, Dirk Haane Arzt and Tim Haane from the Friederikenstift hospital from Hanover came to Ukraine for the first time. They were met in Lviv by the head of the Lviv District Military Administration Khrystyna Zamula.
“This is the second ambulance that our friends from Hanover have brought to Ukraine. They have been cooperating and helping the military hospital for several years. After all, our hospitals really need cooperation and help during the war. We are grateful to the German doctors and Ukrainian volunteers of Hanover for such great help. We will all defeat the invaders together. And I believe that we will continue our cooperation within the EU to build a free Europe,” says Khrystyna Zamula.
Mrs. Maria Maksymtsiv has been living in Germany for a long time. And her brother is currently in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, defending the independence of Ukraine. Three months ago, with a preliminary humanitarian cargo, the volunteer, together with German correspondents, visited the regions near the front. She admits that after watching the story about the realities of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Hanover residents also collected gifts from St. Nicholas for Ukrainian children from the Orphan Care Center.
