Mykhailo Yefimenko comes from the city of Obukhiv, Kyiv region. He is a professional military man, before that he worked at the Obukhov cardboard and paper plant.
“I have been in the army for mobilization since 2014, with breaks, though. Served in the 72nd brigade. I was both surrounded and captured by the Russians for two days, in short, there was a lot,” says Mykola.
The defender met a full-scale invasion in Kyiv. Was in the 101st brigade on a contract – guarding the General Staff, and then transferred to the 72nd brigade and went to the East.
“I went to Bakhmut first. From there we were transferred to Vugledar. There we accepted Aydar’s position. And on the fourth day, August 14, 2022, I was injured. I don’t know what exactly flew in, because everything was flying there. Injury is to be expected. Should have arrived sooner or later. How much is possible? 9th year of the war. Relatives accepted normally, adequately. I will not say that they were happy or did not care. But don’t panic,” continues Mykola.
The man’s left arm was amputated above the elbow joint, the first finger was torn off and the bone of the second finger was cut out on the right hand. Mykola got to the Superhumans Center thanks to his sister. She applied for him, because at that time he could not even move his right hand.
“The war is not over yet. I’ll see how I get on with the prosthetics. My contract is not over yet. If possible, I will continue to serve. And after the war, I will go to my factory,” concludes the defender.
