From the first days of the full-scale invasion, on the initiative of the Drohobych authorities and directly of the Department of Family and Youth, a decision was made to implement in the city a program of support for women giving birth during the war. The essence of the idea is simple – the Department of Family and Youth forms support packages for newborns and delivers them to the maternity hospital of the city every week. Packages are given both to women of the Drohobych territorial community and to women in labor from other territories and to women from among IDPs.
Local support packages (not to be confused with the national support program “Baby Package”) include everything necessary for newborns: clothes, first toys, hygiene products, and for babies of the Drohobych community – the first embroidered clothes.
As the head of the family and youth department, Oleksandra Pashko, notes, in 2024, the Drohobych community’s support program for women giving birth has been successfully extended, and support packages will cover all women who give birth in the city’s maternity hospital.
Women who are not found in the maternity hospital are given appropriate vouchers for receiving aid packages. You should apply for them in office 210 of the city hall (family and youth department).
In addition, in 2023, 618 children were born in the city’s Drohobytsky maternity hospital, of which 303 were girls, 315 were boys, and 36 were children from IDPs.
