Urology department opened in Drohobych City Hospital

The premises were overhauled and the necessary equipment was installed.

Today, on April 10, the newly established urology department was inspected by Khrystyna Zamula, Deputy Head of Lviv Regional State Administration, Natalia Litvinska, Director of the Health Department of Lviv Regional State Administration, and Tetiana Kudyk, Director of the Western Interregional Department of the NHSU.

To improve the conditions and quality of patient care, the gynecological building’s second floor was overhauled and a urology department was opened.

“We are living in a difficult time, so every renovated room, every landscaped area supports faith in the future. We owe everything we have to our defenders, so I want to thank those who are fighting for our victory.

As for the new department, it’s not so much about expensive equipment, it’s about the professionals who work here. When a doctor wants to help, but the hospital does not have the necessary equipment, it is difficult. Now doctors can do their job much better, much more efficiently. I congratulate your community and the residents of the surrounding communities. Because here they will be able to receive high-quality medical services.

I wish you all good health and let this department work not only to treat but also to prevent diseases.

For our part, Lviv UIA is always ready to support such projects. Don’t stop there,” Khrystyna Zamula, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Medical Association, greeted the audience.

Part of the area in the gynecology building was converted into a urology department. UAH 5603.8 thousand was allocated from the local budget to equip the department and create comfortable conditions in it. These funds were used to install metal-plastic windows and doors, ceramic tiles on the floor, putty the walls, replace the water supply and sewerage system, carry out electrical work, and equip the ventilation system and bathrooms, including those for people with limited mobility. The operating room was also equipped and medical furniture was installed.

UAH 12659.6 thousand was spent on purchasing equipment for the newly created urology department. In particular, X-ray equipment for diagnostics, a laser lithotripsy system, a gynecological bed, surgical lamps, a video scopic complex, instruments for laparoscopic surgery and a cystoscope were installed.
