A bifurcation prosthesis was implanted in the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital

This is the first time such a procedure has been performed in Ukraine.

The patient was implanted with the MINOS bifurcation prosthesis to treat an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Due to its extremely low profile delivery system, this prosthesis provides high accuracy and less invasiveness.

The operation was successfully performed by Dmytro Beshley, a cardiac surgeon at the Ukrainian-Polish Heart Center of the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital, and Bohdan Cherpak, an endovascular surgeon at the Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery.

“This important step demonstrates modern medicine and opens up new perspectives for patients who need high-precision and expert care. The prosthesis enables patients with lower limb ischemia to safely undergo these procedures and reduces the risk of complex interventions. The patient feels well enough and is preparing for discharge,” said Dmytro Beshley.

Two weeks ago, a new X-ray room was opened at the Lviv Oblast Clinical Hospital. Earlier, a renovated intensive and post-intensive care unit for newborns was launched.

The new unit will significantly enhance the work of the maternity ward, which was renovated at the expense of the regional budget and opened in 2022.
