In September, following a missile strike on Zaporizhzhia launched by Russian forces, two family members tragically died, and 13-year-old girl, Maria, and her father sustained numerous injuries. Maria was trapped under the rubble of the building for three hours before rescuers reached her. After initial treatment at a local hospital, her condition was stabilized, and then Maria was transferred to a specialized Center where she underwent a complex recovery procedure. Orthopedic traumatologist Taras Moskal shared that the medical team was actively working on treating the burns, mending the fracture, and rehabilitation which included sessions with psychologists and physiotherapists. Every day, Maria had to fight pain and difficulties in movement, but thanks to persistence and a comprehensive approach, she has already started walking.
