All the way to the hospital, she screamed frantically in pain and understanding that she had lost her leg. A woman who was injured as a result of a Russian missile hit was given prosthetics by specialists of the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center in Lviv. Now the patient is learning to walk on a prosthesis, to accept new circumstances and her body.
Tatyana Dolozi is 71. She spent her entire life in the city of Ukrainy, Donetsk region. In retirement, the woman led a very active lifestyle. She had time to take care of her mother, work in the garden and work.
This was the case until April 2023. Then a Russian rocket landed right next to the market where the pensioner worked. As a result of the impact, the roof of the neighboring building shifted and fell on the metal container in which Ms. Tatiana was. He says that the left leg did not go away immediately, and the right one was very badly damaged. The woman was conscious and clearly remembers the way to the hospital. She was immediately operated on. And later, in order to save the patient’s right leg, the doctors performed a series of surgical interventions.
Mrs. Tatiana came to the NEZLAMNI center for wound healing and prosthetics. She admits that the most difficult part of her treatment was realizing that her leg was gone.
“At first I was completely hysterical – it’s natural. But then gradually it began to sink into my head. Understanding that I will no longer be the same as before… I need to adapt to living in a new way,” the patient shares.
Now Ms. Tetyana has already received her artificial limb, is learning to walk on it and is completing rehabilitation. To support the woman, the NEZLAMNI center and the chain of Nail Caramel beauty studios organized a photo session for her.
