At the Children’s Medicine Center, the Okhmatdit hospital, a complex operation was performed on a 10-year-old boy with recurrent laryngeal papilomatosis (a mildly puffy illness).

Mykola made a preliminary diagnosis – papilomatosis of the larynx and sent the child to Lviv Okhmatdit. Here this diagnosis was confirmed and immediately operated on.

“If laryngeal papilomatosis recurs in children, then the lumen of the respiratory tract should be increased with progressive decreases in the respiratory tract. So, the main symptom is: hoarseness, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath. More common: cough, presence of foreign body, discomfort, dysphagia,” the doctors explained.

“I am so grateful to all the ENT doctors and anesthesiologists who helped. We, apparently, have fathers who have children with such a diagnosis,” said Mikoli’s mother.

According to doctors, such operations are complex, require special anesthetic care and require anesthesia without tracheal intubation.

More than a month has passed since the operation, the boy’s voice and breathing are good. In the future, Mikola will be under the constant care of doctors. Perhaps, it will be necessary to present it again.

The medical report added that such operations with such a diagnosis in Ukraine are no longer possible here in Kiev.
