The world-renowned surgeon from Turkey, Hakan Ahir, regularly conducts operations and consults at ZUSDMC

30 consultations and 4 surgical interventions in one day – this is how the world-famous surgeon from Turkey DrHakan Ağır began his visit to the Western Ukrainian Children’s Specialized Medical Center. The specialist will stay here for five days. During this time, together with the doctors of the hospital, they plan to perform 25 reconstructive operations.
“On the first day of the professor’s stay at our Center, we consulted more than 30 patients. After consultation, some were offered surgical treatment and even scheduled operations. Most of the patients came to the appointment for the first time and used the online registration form. However, there were quite a few who came for a follow-up examination after an earlier intervention,” said Orest Leshnevskyi, a pediatric surgeon at the ZUSDMC.
Among the operated children are two patients with congenital defects of the face and neck, a young patient with a complex post-burn scar, and another child with a rare tumor – a tumor of the parotid salivary glands. Now they are still in the postoperative wards, but will return home in a few days.
It should be noted that the Turkish surgeon has already consulted and performed operations at ZUSDMC on more than one occasion.
Also, at the Center for Children’s Medicine – Regional Children’s Hospital “OKHMATDYT” together with the doctors of the hospital, craniofacial and reconstructive surgeon from Paris, Roman Hossein Khonsari, operates and consults.
