The 8th charitable mission of RECONSTRUCTION MISSIONS has begun at the Center for Child Medicine!
For 6 days, from May 18 to 23, a team of 8 leading American specialists along with Ukrainian doctors will assist children with congenital facial and neck anomalies. Approximately 100 consultations and at least 30 complex reconstructive surgeries are planned for young patients from all over Ukraine. 90% of the children being consulted come from eastern, southern, and central regions.
Working alongside surgeons are a speech therapist, an orthodontist, a special education specialist, and a psychologist, as the treatment of lip and palate clefts involves more than just surgery; it includes full support for the child’s development, speech, and socialization.
In total, our Center welcomed:
- Mohammed Elfar – Craniofacial Surgery, Plastic Surgery
- Mark Gnatyuk – Craniofacial Surgery, Otolaryngology (ENT)
