A network of mental health centers is being developed in Lviv. After all, this is another step towards timely and high-quality assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war and people with other psychological needs. Seven such centers have already been opened in city medical institutions, four of them with grant funds in polyclinics.
In particular, in four polyclinics – 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th, such centers were opened in partnership with the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine” (МН4U) with grant funds. Another center in the 4th polyclinic is planned.
A qualified multi-functional team of specialists works in such centers: a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a psychotherapist, and other specialists, in particular social ones, are involved if necessary. Doctors provide psychological rehabilitation, mental support and treatment of mental disorders and diseases. Thanks to art therapy, isotherapy, color therapy and other therapies, specialists help overcome crisis traumas, fears, resentments, depression, anxiety states, panic attacks and sleep disorders.
“People of all ages come to us with depression and anxiety. People, unfortunately, have been sick for years, and now it all got worse – during the war. But people are sometimes afraid to apply. Therefore, we are very happy when residents apply, and we sincerely invite them to apply, not to be afraid of psychiatrists and psychotherapists. Because right here, in the center, there is such a space for different people, where they, with the help of specialists, will be able to improve their well-being and quality of life,” explains Inna Anitina, head of the mental health center of the 6th city polyclinic.
In addition, mental health centers were created at the 5th City Hospital, St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital, and the base of the UNBROKEN rehabilitation center.
Anyone can apply to the mental health center, including forcibly displaced Ukrainians and servicemen who have returned from the war zone. You can get the help of specialists either by referral from a family doctor or by the recommendation of a social services specialist, or by yourself.
