In the regional perinatal center, residents of Lviv Oblast can be tested for papilloma virus free of charge

Director of the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center Maria Malachynska told about this during a briefing at the “Ukraine” media center. According to her, starting today at the perinatal center there is an opportunity to be examined to prevent papilloma virus.

All girls aged 9 to 18 can undergo a free vaccination at the perinatal center against the most oncogenic strains of papillomavirus – 6,11,16,18 with the Gardasil vaccine.

Such prevention is important before the first sexual contact to prevent the occurrence of many reproductive problems in the future. Human papillomavirus is the most common sexually transmitted virus in the world and can cause cervical cancer.

For girls 9-14 years old, 2 injections of the vaccine are enough. The second dose is administered 6 months after the first.
For girls 14-18 years old, 3-time administration according to the scheme of 0-1-6 months is recommended.
