Opening of the Rehabilitation Department in Sheptytsky: New Opportunities for Patients

On April 7, a rehabilitation department will open in the Central City Hospital of Sheptytsky, located on the 4th floor of the facility in the premises of the former gynecological department. It is equipped with 20 beds for the recovery of patients after injuries, surgeries, or damages.

Funding and Equipment

The opening of such a department is one of the requirements for cluster hospitals. For its launch, the community financed the capital repair of premises, allocating 5,187,000 UAH from the local budget. Part of the necessary equipment costing 1,075,000 UAH was centrally purchased by the Ministry of Health, and the rest was procured using funds from the local budget and the hospital — totaling 4,528,000 UAH.

Team and Services

The department will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team of specialists from various fields — doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine, physical therapists, occupational therapists, a speech therapist, a psychologist, nurses, and assistants. Together, they will devise an individualized recovery plan for each patient, breaking down a significant goal into smaller steps.

It is worth noting that the department will focus on assisting the civilian population. Military personnel will also be accepted, but they must have a referral from a military medic (hospital) or military unit. Civilian patients are accepted with a referral from a narrow specialist. It is important to note that a family doctor cannot provide such a referral. Generally, throughout the year, one can undergo 2-3 courses of rehabilitation, with each course lasting 14 or 21 days, depending on the diagnosis.
