A cow dies of rabies in one of the farms in Silets village

According to the first deputy mayor, Dmytro Balko, yesterday, 9 September, a cow died in one of the farms. The results of laboratory tests confirmed rabies.

This was reported by the Chervonohrad City Council.

To prevent the spread of the disease, the animal was disposed of at the relevant enterprise today, and contact people were vaccinated.

In addition, preventive rabies vaccination of all pets and cattle in the villages of Silets, Mezhyrichchia, Hirnyk and Horodyshche has already begun. Residents of these villages are asked to keep their dogs and cats tied up or in cages to prevent the spread of the disease.

For the attention of community members who have pets. Rabies vaccination is available free of charge at the Chervonohrad City State Veterinary Hospital at 4 Kozatska Street. Opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 13:00.

If you suspect rabies, you should contact a veterinary clinic or the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection office in Chervonohrad at 2a Parkova Street.
