A rehabilitation department will be opened in the Chervonohrad city hospital

The department will be located on the 4th floor of the central city hospital, in the former gynecological department and will have 20 beds. Opening of rehabilitation is a requirement of the Ministry of Health for cluster hospitals.

As Iryna Polygach, deputy director of the medical department of the hospital, said, rehabilitation of patients will take place not only in the physical sense, but also in the psychological sense. Speech therapists, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists and rehabilitation specialists will work here. Currently, the process of training specialists is ongoing. The need for rehabilitators remains acute, and according to the requirements of the National Health Service of Ukraine, 4 such specialists should work in the department. Currently, there is only one specialist in the hospital, another one is undergoing training courses.

The premises of the rehabilitation department need major renovation, they need to be adapted to patients who are limited in their activities. Also, according to the requirements of the National Health Service, it is necessary to equip rehabilitation rooms where specialized equipment will be placed. As a result, design and cost documentation was developed for carrying out repair works, the cost of which is approximately 4 million hryvnias. The city council has already allocated 1.5 million hryvnias, so, according to Iryna Polygach, repair work can start as early as next week.

According to Iryna Polygach, if the work on opening a rehabilitation department in the city is actively carried out, the Ministry of Health is ready to provide specialized equipment with an estimated cost of 1.5 million hryvnias. In general, the cost of the necessary rehabilitation medical and specialized equipment, as well as furniture, is about 4 million hryvnias.

“There are currently no specific dates for the opening of the rehabilitation department. But the sooner we repair the premises and start working, the sooner we will sign an agreement with the National Health Service for permission to provide the necessary medical services,” said Iryna Polygach.
