Over 10,500 Cases of Flu and ARVI Reported in Lviv Region in a Week

Last week, the Lviv region saw an increase in flu and ARVI cases compared to the previous period. According to the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 10,541 cases were reported between December 9 and 15, which is 638 cases (6.44%) more than the previous week. Despite the rise, the epidemic threshold (434.07) has not been exceeded.

Of the total cases, 52.54% (5,538) were adults, while 47.46% (5,003) involved children.

The Ministry of Health emphasizes the importance of vaccination against flu and COVID-19 as the most effective preventive measure against these infections.

Annual flu vaccination is recommended due to the constant evolution of virus strains. Vaccines are available in pharmacies and undergo stringent state quality controls to ensure their safety and effectiveness.

COVID-19 vaccination remains free of charge. To receive a vaccination, individuals can contact their family doctor, who will assist in arranging the procedure.
