Kuzma Scriabin, who tragically died in an accident, would have turned 54 on August 17

We miss his sincerity, openness and authenticity. We recall the insightful quotes of someone who lived as best he could, but always “smiled widely.” We miss you, Dobryak!

Andriy Kuzmenko was born in the city of Sambir, Lviv Region, in the family of a music teacher and an engineer. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a garbage truck driver, then a neurologist. He started playing music in the 8th grade, after the family moved to Novoyavorivsk. Went to a music school, played the piano. He served in the army, graduated from the dental faculty of the Lviv Medical Institute. But he did not like dentistry, instead he became more and more interested in music, in particular punk. At the end of the 1980s, Andrii Kuzmenko, together with his friends, created the band “Skryabin”. Recorded 15 albums with the group. He is widely known to the Ukrainian audience as the host of the music project “Chance”, since 2009 – the host of the music channel “M-1”. Tragically died in a car accident on February 2, 2015 near the village of Lozovatka, Kryvorizka district, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Buried at the cemetery of the village of Bryukhovychy near Lviv.
