The championship of Ukraine in swimming among youth and juniors ended in Brovary.
The national team of the Lviv Oblast also performed at the competition with the support of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Oblast.
Sofia Lesniak from Lviv won a record number of medals at the competition. In particular, on the first day of the 400 m freestyle competition, Sofia won gold and 2nd place among youth. On the second day, she won silver among juniors and bronze among youth at the distance of 800 m freestyle. On the third day, the swimmer won gold in both the junior and youth races at a distance of 1,500 meters. She became the champion of Ukraine in two categories – juniors and youth. The athlete also became the champion of Ukraine in marathon swimming in the pool at a distance of 5 km among young men and juniors. Serhii Stetskovich trains a talented swimmer.
Also, on the first day of the competition among juniors, Danylo Pryimak won the bronze medal in the 100 m breaststroke. On the second day of the competition, Olena Kozak became the vice-champion among juniors at the distance of 50 m breaststroke. On the third day of the competition, Oksana Paraschuk won 3rd place among juniors at the distance of 200 m breaststroke. On the fourth day of the competition, Darya Babiechko won the bronze medal in the 100 m backstroke among juniors. The athletes are trained by Tetyana Romashko, Stepan Gula, Andriy Shimanskyi and Andriy Kopetchak.
Also, on the fourth day of the competition, the representative of Lviv Oblast, Georgy Lukashev, took 1st place at the distance of 1500 m freestyle, and he took 2nd place at the distances of 200 m breaststroke and 200 m breaststroke. The athlete is trained by Andriy Shimanskyi and Andriy Kopetchak.
At the championship of Ukraine in marathon swimming in the pool, in addition to Sofia, Maria Horodnya won a medal for the Lviv region. She is also coached by Andrii Shymanskyi, Andrii Kopetchak and Petro Nagornyi.
