This week, on November 7, in the sports hall of the Drohobytskyi Lyceum No. 2, the “School Sports Leagues” in volleyball started. Pupils of grades 9-10 take part in volleyball competitions. On these days, boys compete between educational institutions of the community and prove their skill in this sport. It’s the girls’ turn.
Directly on November 7, the teams: Lyceum No. 2, Lyceum No. 1 named after Ivan Franko, Lyceum No. 3 named after Vyacheslav Chornovol and Stebnytskyi Lyceum No. 7 demonstrated their skills in volleyball.
In general, the large-scale project “School Leagues”, which this year is being implemented in the Drohobytsk community by the department of physical culture and sports of the DMR, will take place in four sports: basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball and badminton.
At the beginning of October, general secondary education institutions formed their teams to participate in the qualifying stage of the Leagues.
School teams compete among themselves to win in their district. The best teams will enter the final games, which will be the final stage of the competition.
In the final, the school teams will compete for the Cup of the Drohobych community league, which will be transitional and will go to the strongest team every year. The winners of the competition will receive a new sports uniform for the men’s and women’s team, as well as sports equipment from a specific sport.
As for the selection stage of the “School Sports Leagues” in volleyball, on November 8, the following teams competed in the sports hall of Lyceum No. 16 named after Yu. Stebnytsk secondary school No. 18.
On November 10, in the sports hall of the Gymnasium No. 17, athletes of the following teams will compete: Gymnasium No. 17, Naguievytska SZSh, Rykhtytska SZSh, Dobrivlyanskyi NVK, Mikhailevytska SZSh, Verkhnyogaivskyi NVK.
Starting next week, school girls’ teams will demonstrate their superiority in the “School Leagues” in volleyball.
