International Theater Day is celebrated on March 27.

Celebrations for the International Theater Day took place in the Potocki Palace. On the occasion of the professional holiday, the actors of the leading theaters of the Lviv region were honored with awards of the Lviv OVA.

“Today we congratulate everyone whose life and work are inextricably linked with the theater. Theater is a colossal and dedicated work of actors, stage directors, producers, sound engineers, screenwriters, artists, lighting technicians, dressers, ticket takers and other support staff. In the conditions of a full-scale war, the function of theaters has changed radically: actors and workers who previously entertained the audience are now actively volunteering, housing forcibly displaced persons, preparing food for the needs of the military, weaving camouflage nets, updating concert programs, and preparing premieres of plays. Thank you All of you are creating the newest theatrical history together. Happy International Theater Day!”, Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv OVA, congratulated theatergoers on the holiday.

The artists of the octet “Orpheus” presented a musical gift to those present.

“The theater is one of the few places that gives a person a whole range of emotions. It is thanks to the theater that we can look at seemingly obvious things in a completely different way. This opportunity is given to us from the stage by the actors, for whom the theater is like a second home, and colleagues on the stage are comrades in roles. Ukrainian history knows many well-known examples when artists spoke out against the regime and spoke the truth from the stage to the audience. In the same way, many theater actors, art critics not only in the Lviv region, but also throughout the country, have changed their concert costumes to military uniforms, props to weapons, proscenium to the front line. Thank you for your work, talent, and dedication to your profession. On the part of the regional government, we support the cultural sector and will continue to do so,” emphasized Ivan Sobko, deputy head of the Lviv OVA.

For their high professional skill, significant personal contribution to the development of theater and on the occasion of International Theater Day, the following were thanked:
