Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a citizen of Ukraine was exposed and notified of suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of conscripts across the state border of Ukraine (part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a resident of Lviv Oblast established a scheme for illegal border crossing for conscripts. To do this, he created a Telegram channel in which he offered to help men cross the border illegally.
For $5,000, the suspect provided his clients with fake documents purporting to prove they had the status of a father of many children.
Work was undertaken only on advance payment. And for the conspiracy, he sent a courier for the second part of the funds.
The man was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine. The issue of selecting a preventive measure for him in the form of continued detention is being resolved.
Investigations are ongoing, other involved persons are being identified.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Department of the Provincial Government of Ukraine in the Lviv Region, operative support was provided by the Migration Police Department of the Provincial Government of Ukraine in the Lviv Region and a unit of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
