A 24-year-old man was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm that led to the death of the victim (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) following a public indictment by prosecutors of the Zhovkiv District Prosecutor’s Office.
He was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Prosecutors proved in court that in March 2023 in Zhovkva, the convict beat his friend to death. The extra person came to the house of a 47-year-old local resident. He decided to “teach” the victim, as the latter allegedly systematically stole other people’s things.
During the conflict, the accused began to beat the man with his hands and feet. After that, he took him to the yard, where he continued to beat him even after he fell to the ground. Noticing a brick nearby, he picked it up and began hitting the victim’s back.
The next day, the man died of his injuries at home.
