Under the procedural guidance of the Drogobytsk District Prosecutor’s Office, a 66-year-old man was charged with intentionally causing grievous bodily harm (Part 1, Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect and his 50-year-old friend were drinking alcoholic beverages in Drohobychi. During the feast, a verbal dispute arose between the men, during which the suspect took an ax from the bathroom and, returning to the kitchen, began to inflict numerous blows on the body and head of his friend.
In this way, he caused serious bodily injuries to the latter, such as those that are life-threatening at the time of occurrence.
The victim is currently in the hospital.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the Drohobytsk District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
