The traffic accident occurred on December 26, around 7:30 p.m., in the village of Unyatichi, Drohobytsky District.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf car, a 39-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Drohobytsky district, hit a pedestrian, a 57-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the man was injured and, despite the efforts of the doctors, died in the ambulance.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
